How important is forgiveness (self-foregiveness or forgiving others) on our spiritual path?

Forgiveness is a decision to let go of resentment and revenge. The act remains, but forgiveness lessens its grip on you, so you can focus on the positives in your life. It leads to understanding and empathy. You don’t deny, minimize, justify, or excuse the person’s responsibility for hurting you. It brings peace that helps you go on with life. It brings the control and health back to your life. Forgive for you, not them. ~ Nick Mansilla

Thank you for starting this topic. 🙂

It is such an important topic, that we all deal with at the begining of our journey.

I have read that quote. What about we take it to a new level?

What does it mean that we fogive someone and what does it mean that we forget?

forgiveness begins within for without that for me it is not dealing with what is really the cause…does one really ever forget on all levels you may push it down and not think about it yet until the release and forgiveness of self my experience is that something along the way might trigger it to resurface so that is the time to work on it and release it..

If trere are no accidents and things happen for a reason, life experiences are our educational challenges. :S
What I have learned from my experiences!!!!
    The good ones enjoy. 🙂
The negative ones I need to stop and ask WHY.
My experiences when I don’t forgive is I make myself ill. I suffered with many ailments throughout my life, until I learned to FORGIVE. 😆
I was once taking many drugs, suffered from depression, and fibromyalgia.
By Forgiving and having Amanda as my Life Coach I am pain free and taking a few vitamins
to help. My medical DR. Is amassed. I look younger and beter than I have in10 years.
Forgiving releaves the stress that causes dis ease.

This is a very interesting answer, teka1. :side: You see we were conditioned that we often say, I will forgive, but I cannot forget. I would tell that I was one of those people. I actually was one of the people that would not even forgive. I was holding anger and resentment towards some people from my childhood. For what I know they might have been dead and I held a grouch, till I have learned the truth how things work. I forgave them and I forgot. I let it go completely. Has that happened over night? No. I have learned to let it go. If we burry it under the surface, sooner or later will come up. But if we let it go completely it will be gone forever. 😉

How do you know that we completely let it go?

    Great answer! :woohoo:

You are so right when you say that if we don’t forget we make ourselves sick!!! :silly: We might feel resentment toward someone, but by the law that governs this universe, we are the beneficiary of our resentment. We need to forgive and forget. Not only other people, but ourselves!!!! 😉

    How do we forget.
Don’t we need to remember to pass on what we have learned?

That is a very good question? :silly:

How do we forget? And do we need to remember in order to pass what we have learned?

I am very curious about your anwers. It is an awesome discussion! :woohoo:

And how do we know that we forgave and forgot? :silly:

not exactly sure how you forgive and forget but I know that I have forgiven and forgotten when the name of the person comes up and there is no reaction inside me anymore. It all comes down to loving yourself first I think….

Why do we need to start with ourselves?

That is true! :cheer: We create the entire illusion, so we need to change in order for anything in our illusion, our life to change. :silly:

What do we need to do to create a perfect life, the perfect flow of things?

…and because of all this unforgiveness, guilt, fear and alike, people are indeed making themselves sick… I see – it is their creation – in the people around me… however, I shower them with the light in my heart and know that they are already perfectly healthy – simply perfect. :woohoo:

I also sometimes get emails asking for prayer requests… I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even open those emails anymore… for what? They come from a place of lack, even though they are meant well. I already know that every single person, the prayers are requested for, is already perfect. So I hold that in mind when I delete the emails. I feel this is the best I can do. What do you think?

We create with every single feeling. If you truly believe in your heart that those people are perfect, you will create them perfect. Jesus said, “You can do everything I do and even more.” So, we can heal people with a thought.

Why do you think there are sick people out there?
