I am going to show you are a very simple, easy to follow tool that will create a feeling of accomplishment that is so crucial for us in order to succeed.
First, you need to make a list of things that you need to do in a day. Make that list the night before. You need to put down on paper six of the most important things that you need to do next day. Only six! That is the key! It should take you 2-3 minutes to write that list. Then, arrange those six things in the order of importance by putting the most important task on the very top. Then, the less important and so on. The next day when you begin your day, start the list from the very top. Keep doing the first task on the list until it is done and then move on to the next one. Stay with one job at a time. I found myself being much more efficient when I focused on one thing at a time until it was done. Scientists now say that multitasking is not the best way to go. Every time we change from task to task, it takes us a moment to realize where we left off. That time adds up during the entire day. It saved me anywhere from ¼ to ½ of a day when I focused on one job at a time comparing it to multitasking. Not to mention that doing one thing at a time makes us much calmer. If for any reason, you need to wait for some information or material for the first task that you started, leave it for the time being and go to the next task on the list.
Many times we write for ourselves a mile long list of things to do. There is no way we can accomplish that in a day. By writing only six most important things on a list, we will achieve them much easier, and most importantly, we will feel accomplished and proud of ourselves at the end of the day. Before we go to bed we make another six most important things to do list for the next day and we follow the same procedure. If by any chance we have one task left from the present day that for whatever reason we could not accomplish, we need to put it on the new list. Place it in the order of importance. You might find that it might not be on the top of the new list.
When you follow this very simple tool, you will find that you feel awesome as you will be able to finish all the tasks most of the days. That feeling of accomplishment will stay with you to the next day and that day is going to be even better.
Have fun!
Have an absolutely magical week full of LOVE, GRATITUDE and FUN!!!
